Its me again ^^,

Sorry for the lack of updates recently, been busy redoing my site, its all pretty now, and works a lot better. Please check it out, leave some love on the guestbook, I'd love to get some feedback.
[link]

Apart from working on the site, I've been trying to get my name more known in my local area, and trying to make some money at the same time, mainly the second one, I'm brrrroke.
I've been writing around to local shops and art dealers to see about getting my work stocked in their shops, so far with little success, only one place has even replied, but I went to see the owner and he likes my work, so I'm having some fullsize 16x24in prints made up for him to put in the shop.

I'm hoping the weather gets a bit more... predictable soon, as I haven't been able to shoot much, its either overcast and gloomy or bright blue without a trace of cloud, both of which I HATE shooting in. I'm hoping for some storms or big fluffy, rumbly, patchy cloud soon, cause I miss gettin' out there with the cameras.
Also looking for new locations to shoot, need to try and find some inspiration, as I'm finding it harder to find new shots in my area.

Well, I think thats about it.
Please check out the site and leave some feedback, its still mainly under construction, but theres enough to get started on.

Thanks for readin',
TTFN.
Matt.

Captains Log - Stardate:200803.07

Journal Entry: Fri Mar 7, 2008, 12:07 PM
So its already March. This years goin' well quick.

So this is mainly a follow up to the last journal. I like to keep my fans updated...
So I had some test prints made up, and took them down to the guy in that art shop I mentioned, and he loves the work. Smashing bloke, Ken, so I'm gonna have a couple of big prints made up and framed, and a catalogue of my stuff made up, and they're going to go on sale in his store. So hopefully I'll start getting some sales from there soon.

My photoshoot for Digital Camera Monthly magazine went really well. We had a great day. Was really nervous as first as I was going as the expert, but the guys were great fun, and we were all really relaxed, and we all got some great shots. The magazine comes out on the 11th of this month over here in the UK, I'm not sure about anywhere else.
After I did the shoot and the after work, I got contacted again by the magazine, and asked to do an article on my editing technique, which I've written up and sent off, just waiting to find out if thats published, I hope so, as I need the money from it. That'll be coming out on the 8th of April in the UK.
I'll keep you updated on what I hear.

Also. I've set up my website. [link]
And I'm selling my prints on there now. Same sort of sizes, but printed especially for me, in full Adobe 98 colour. So my prints look how it is on the screen now.
I'll be adding tutorials and blogs from shoots soon too, so keep checking back for that.

And. I got a R72 IR filter recently, so anyone thats shot with one and had good results, feel free to give me pointers =D
Thank you.

Cheers for all the comment and faves recently.
And cheers for reading this.

Take it easy.
Matt.

The New Year

Journal Entry: Wed Jan 16, 2008, 9:35 AM
First of all, happy new year to all the regular viewers of my page, and all those who randomly stumble upon it.

I havent updated this in ages.
So theres alot to catch up on.
I say alot.
Theres like... 2 things.

First of all, I sent out a few letters to local art dealers and shops a while back, and one wrote back interested in selling my work, as hes looking for something fresh for his shop.
So once I can afford to put my portfolio together... I'll be whoring that around to local dealers.
Also.
Ben Birchall, techniques editor ofDigital Camera Monthly, one of the biggest photography magazines over here in the UK, has asked me to act as the expert on a shoot focused on HDR photography, to be published in the magazine.
So I'm really excited about that. It hasnt been formalized yet, but just being asked has been a great confidence boost for me.

I'm about to upgrade some of my gear, a couple of new lenses, and some new filters, to replace my Cokin ones.
And I'm also looking into setting up my own website to publish my work on, and maybe sell through, so keep checkin' back for more on that.

And I just wanted to say thank you for all the favourites and comments recently.
Sorry I havent replied to them all yet, I'll get round to it sometime.
And thank you all reading this for visiting my page, I appreciate it.

Thank yous again,
Matt.

Update.

Journal Entry: Thu May 24, 2007, 10:12 AM
So, its been a while since I last updated this.
So I will now.
Mixed couple of months.
New tripod set up, a Manfrotto 055ProB and a 804RC2 head. Love it, great for what I do.
But on another note, my Nikon D70 has semi died. Its suffering from the inherent mirror problem, where it gets stuck in the roof of the camera and it goes all squify.
Gonna send it back to Nikon, but I'm not sure if the warranty is still valid.
If it isnt, I dont know what I'm going to do.
I'm lookin' into D200's but I'm completely broke at the moment.
Anybody got any ideas?

Other then that, normal updates and such.
Thanks to all those who have been comin' back to check out my stuff and thanks for all the comments and faves.
I really appreciate it.

I'll update this again soon.

Tarra.
Matt.
